Port of Mobile welcomes new, $61M logistics facility
MTC Logistics, a Baltimore-based temperature controlled logistics company, has opened a new facility in the Port of Mobile. According to the Alabama Department of Commerce, the new facility could add as many as 75 new jobs to the area. Keep reading to learn more.
Who is MTC Logistics?
Founded in 1928, MTC Logistics is a logistics company supporting clients in need of temperature-controlled shipping & handling of their products. With port facilities located near two-thirds of the total U.S. population, MTC Logistics is able to provide their clients with easy access to dozens of international markets.

On October 20th, MTC Logistics officially opened their newest facility, located in Alabama’s Port of Mobile. Crews first broke ground on the sprawling refrigerated cargo facility in 2019. Now, 2 years and $61 million later, MTC Logistics’ Mobile facility is ready to begin operation.
Inside the facility, you’ll find 12.6 million cubic feet of refrigerated space. That means the logistic company can store upwards of 40,000 pallets of refrigerated materials, such as frozen vegetables, meat, seafood and more. And, since the facility less than half a mile from I-10 and less than 3 miles from I-65, it’s in prime location to take advantage of the Port of Mobile.
Now that the facility is operational, MTC Logistics is looking to add 75 new jobs to the area. In addition, the facility has growth potential in the future.
