Montgomery’s food scene is booming and one of its newest additions, The Yummy Grill, is a must-try. The restaurant offers some of the most savory barbecue in the city paired with friendly faces and good times. We spoke with the owner Daniel Thomas and got the deets on their menu. Check it out.
All about The Yummy Grill
The Yummy Grill is one of Montgomery’s newest barbecue joints. It officially opened July 5, 2021 and the Montgomery community has been loving it. Check out these Facebook reviews:
Behind the grill is the phenomenal Daniel Thomas. According to the Montgomery Advertiser, Thomas had been running a food truck and his own trucking business three years prior to his decision to open a brick-and-mortar location.
His family joined him on his restauranteur journey and they work alongside him at The Yummy Grill. His mother works the front register while his niece is the sweetest hostess.

The Yummy Grill has been making a big buzz around Montgomery. Thomas’ is considering opening more locations. Within the next 5 years, Thomas plans to open The Yummy Grill in every major city in Alabama including Huntsville, Birmingham and Mobile.

The Yummy Grill’s atmosphere is one that will definitely make you want to pig out. Along with the aroma of down South barbecue, the restaurant is decorated with red and white walls with red chairs and cow print tabletops. Did you know that the color red can make you hungry?
Their mouth-watering meals may have you contemplating skipping the line. The Yummy Grill’s menu items include:
- Ribeye steak sandwich
- Smoked turkey melt sandwich– chopped smoked turkey, queso cheese, tomato and sweet pickle on buttered Texas toast
- Queso burger– burger patty on crispy soft-shell taco, queso cheese, lettuce, tomato and pickles
- Fried bologna sandwich– quarter inch friend bologna, lettuce, tomato, cheese and pickle on buttered Texas toast
Don’t worry, there are also items that will satisfy your sweet tooth like cream cheese pies with toppings.
