We know it’s still hot outside but even if the weather isn’t cooperating, there are plenty of ways to make it feel like fall around Alabama.
The official Oktoberfest holidays in Germany run from mid-September until the first Sunday in October and several cities around the state gearing up to join in on the fun over the next three weeks.

Cahaba Oktoberfest | Birmingham
- What: Honoring Oktoberfest tradition, Cahaba Brewing Co. hosts their annual event featuring a seasonal Oktoberfest ale served in souvenir steins (while supplies last). Catch live music, shop local vendors, watch a weiner dog race or participate in a stein hoisting competition for a chance to win special prizes.

29th Redstone Arsenal Oktoberfest | Huntsville
- What: Enjoy authentic German cuisine like schnitzel, bratwurst, and sauerkraut while sipping beer by the stein at the Redstone Activity Field. Open to the public, the three-day fall festival features carnival rides, authentic German cuisine, a Festhalle Tent, imported beers, and viewing areas for college football.

Oktoberfest + 5K | Tuscaloosa
- What: Tuscaloosa residents, mark your calendars for October 3 so you don’t miss an Oktoberfest celebration featuring a 5K, a dog costume contest, a stein hoisting competition and more fun for the whole family. Oh, and don’t worry about missing the Crimson Tide football game—it will be playing on the big screen during the festivities.

Flora-Bama Oktoberfest | Pensacola
- What: For those 21 and up, you can celebrate Oktoberfest at the Flora-Bama and receive a free drink upon entry. At 3PM, join in their stein hoisting competition hosted by Samuel Adams. All those who enter will get a free stein! Food is served at 4PM and includes beer brats, sauerkraut and german potato salad.

- What: You’ll find live music, craft vendors, delicious food, and family-friendly activities. Visitors can enjoy carnival rides, games and a lively beer garden, perfect for sampling a range of brews.
