11 Veterans Day parades + events across Alabama

Each year, the country takes a day to honor those who have served in the United States military. Since 1954, Nov. 11 has officially served as the federal holiday known as Veterans Day.
Around Alabama, people will come together to pay their respects while enjoying ceremonies, parades and fellowship. Schools and government offices will be closed along with many businesses.
But there will still be plenty of festivities to enjoy across the state. Keep reading for 11 ceremonies and parades in Alabama on Tuesday, Nov. 11.
National Veterans Day Parade in Birmingham
- What: Birmingham was chosen by the Veterans Day National Committee to be a regional site for 2025’s celebrations. This year is honoring the 250th anniversary of American independence. Check out this massive parade and give thanks to veterans.

Veterans Day Parade in Montgomery

- What: Marching bands, military units, veteran organizations, and more will showcase their patriotism and support for our veterans.

Veterans Day Ceremony in Tuscaloosa
- What: The City of Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa VA and the University of Alabama will partner together to host this year’s ceremony right off McFarland Boulevard in the heart of Tuscaloosa.

Veterans Day Parade in Huntsville

- What: Huntsville has a day full of events capped off by the annual parade. Enjoy the festivities from any location along the marching route and plan to stay for the displays and the festivities in Big Spring Park after the parade

Veterans Day Celebration and Parade of Flags in Mobile

- What: This free event features patriotic music, presentations by the Veterans Day Essay Contest winners, a keynote address by the 2025-26 Distinguished Young Woman of the Year and more. The Parade of Flags features fourth-grade students from Mobile and Baldwin counties.

Veterans Day Parade in Sylacauga

- What: The parade route will begin on Broadway at the West 6th Street intersection and proceed south to First Street. The procession will then turn west onto First Street, proceed to the intersection at Norton Avenue, and then turn north on Norton. The parade will conclude at the area of Central Park and Blue Bell on Norton Avenue.

Veterans Day program in Florence

- What: This ceremony will serve as Florence’s first official America 250 event. The city will be honoring local veterans and working to preserve their legacy through a group photo series by era of service for inclusion in the Veterans Memorial Museum archives.
