15 players with ties to Alabama getting ready for Super Bowl LX
Reading time: 3 minutes

The last time the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks squared off in the Super Bowl, it was former West Alabama star Malcolm Butler that made a game-winning play still talked about today.
Just last year, it was former Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith making headlines as the first Crimson Tide player to ever score a touchdown in the Super Bowl.
It’s clear our state takes pride in football so it’s no surprise to see some familiar names make it to the sport’s biggest stage each February. And this year is no different.
15 total players from Alabama colleges and high schools have made an impact on this season’s Super Bowl teams. Check out the list for both teams before you pick a side Sunday evening.
New England Patriots
The Patriots are back in the Super Bowl for the first time since 2018 but one thing hasn’t changed and that’s a strong connection to the Crimson Tide.
Three Alabama players will be hoping to put New England back on top of the NFL world including:
- Anfernee Jennings, linebacker: 17 games, 26 tackles, 7 TFL, 4 sacks
- Christian Barmore, defensive tackle: 20 games, 36 tackles, 6 TFL, 3 sacks
- CJ Dippre, tight end: 2 games
Auburn is also represented on the AFC representative’s roster by defensive back Carlton Davis III. The safety has started all 20 games for the Patriots and has recorded two interceptions in the postseason.
Dell Pettus, former Sparkman High School player and Troy Trojan, has also played in the secondary in all 20 games this season.
Enterprise High School graduate Marcus Jones has made a name for himself on the special teams unit with two punt returns for a touchdown during the regular season. He also has two defensive touchdowns this year including one in the AFC Divisional round.
Former South Alabama running back Jeremiah Webb is on the Patriots practice squad.
Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks have plenty of local representatives on their sideline as well.
That list includes four more Alabama players, making the Crimson Tide the most represented college in this year’s Super Bowl. The ones playing for Seattle include:
- Jarran Reed, defensive line: 15 games, 35 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles
- Josh Jobe, defensive back: 18 games, 58 tackles, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble
- Jalen Milroe, quarterback: 3 games
- Robbie Ouzts, tight end: 13 games, first target in the playoffs
Auburn also has two players who have made a major impact on one of the league’s top defensive units this season including:
- Derick Hall, defensive end: 16 games, 33 tackles, 3 TFL, 2 sacks
- Nehemiah Pritchett, defensive back: 19 games, 14 tackles, 2 pass deflections
Seattle’s practice squad also features two former South Alabama players including linebacker Jamie Sheriff and defensive tackle Bubba Thomas.
