1. Northport Farmers Market

Northport Farmers Market in Tuscaloosa hosts tons of vendors that sell produce and locally-made goods like syrups, hot sauce, pickles, cheeses and more.

Nestled on the beautiful banks of the Black Warrior River, there’s always something going on at the Tuscaloosa River Market. On a regular market Saturday, you can expect live music, local makers and food.

Auburn/Opelika

3. Auburn: City Market

The Auburn Parks and Recreation Department partners with local growers and artisans every year for its City Market.

Auburn and Opelika locals can shop local goods from farmers, growers and artists from May to September. They’re looking for vendors now!

4. Foley: Coastal Alabama Farmers and Fishermen

This is the largest farmers market in Foley, and every Saturday year-round, you can shop home goods, freshly baked treats and more.

5. Dothan: Poplar Head Farmers Market

Every Saturday starting in the middle of May, you can find all the best produce and fine foods in The Wiregrass—all from local vendors in Dothan.

North Alabama

6. Susan Moore: Graves Family Market

In North Alabama’s Susan Moore community, the Graves Family Market brings flowers and plants, Amish foods, unique pottery and fireworks—something to keep in mind before the 4th of July.

Tip: Keep up with their social media, because products change often!

7. Cullman: J. Calvert Farms

This family-run farm in Cullman is known and loved by locals for its homemade breads, sweets and more goodies. Plus, they’ve got strawberries ready for their season starting in April, and peaches soon after.

8. Hartselle: Reeves Peach Farm

Reeves Peach Farm carries a market full of plums, watermelon, strawberries (may be available mid-April!), tomatoes, squash and more produce. But, you’re missing out if you don’t grab a few peaches once those are ready, too.

9. Decatur: The Morgan County Decatur Farmers Market

For more than 80 years, the Morgan County Decatur Farmers Market has served its county with local vendors and goods. Shop and support the longstanding farmers of Morgan County.

10. Huntsville: Ayers Farmers Market

Pick the prettiest flowers in spring, the perfect peaches in summer, a prized pumpkin in fall and a traditional tree for Christmas at Ayers Farm Farmers Market, now open throughout the year.

11. Florence: Florence-Lauderdale Farmer’s Market

The Florence/Lauderdale Farmers Market gives Shoals residents access to whole, locally grown produce. Catch it the first Saturday in May on Fairground Road.

12. Athens: Athens Farmers Market

If you’re in the North Alabama area, the Athens Farmers Market makes the perfect day trip for some high-quality produce and knick-knacks for around the house—everything from hand-made soaps to artisan products.

13. Meredianville: Reed’s Farmers Market

For over 30 years, Reed’s Farmers Market offers seasonal hanging baskets, bedding plants, fresh produce and other goods like salsa and canned veggies.

14. Bryant: Crocker Farms

At the very top of Alabama, you’ll find the community of Bryant, and nestled in those 19 square miles is Crocker Farms.

Here, you can stock up on spring flowers and plants, and shop the weekly sales on produce and pre-made meals.

Central Alabama

15. Clanton: Durbin Farms Market

One of my favorite stops for peaches and ice cream! The Durbin Farms Market is open year-round and you can shop everything from their famous peaches and other produce, to ice cream (fan favorite) and even Durbin Farms merch.

16. Montgomery: Handey’s Farm

Another family-owned farm open year-round, Handey’s Farm has fresh strawberries (that you can pick yourself!) and other tasty vegetables every season.

17. Birmingham: The Market at Pepper Place

This one is especially popular among Birminghamians. On Saturday mornings, you’ll find Pepper Place buzzing with live music, locals riding their bikes or walking on the nearby Rotary Trail while folks pick up deliciously-fresh local produce, meats, goodies and a pastry or two.
