Foot-stomping bluegrass festivals are the perfect way to welcome fall to Alabama. From the creeks of central Alabama to the mountains of North Alabama, these four celebrations across the state each have something unique about them. Here’s what you need to know.

1. Stapleton Bluegrass Festival

For over 20 years, the Stapleton Bluegrass Festival has been bringing the community together for a music-filled day supporting a great cause. It’s one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for Stapleton School, with profits going toward important improvements in the education system there.

2. Bluegrass + Barbecue Festival

This free event has been a South Huntsville favorite in years past, and it’s back again in 2023. Performances from Grasstronatus, Iron Horse and Three on a String will get guests tapping their feet while enjoying local barbecue from food trucks like FastFrankie’s and Mama’s Kitchen.

3. Pinchgut Revival

There’s no better backdrop for a bluegrass festival than Alabama’s beautiful waterways. Friends of Pinchgut Creek is bringing baack the Pinchgut Revival this year, featuring three bluegrass bands, art vendors and kid-friendly fun. Plus, there will be ways to learn about the local natural environment and waterways, including an educational animal show!

4. Round Top Folk Festival

Burritt on the Mountain is one of the most scenic destinations in Huntsville, and it’s also the site of the annual Round Top Folk Festival. This three-day event has a lot to offer: concerts by the bluff, traditional skills and craft demonstrations, S’mores at the View, vendors from local crafters and artisans and much more.
