Auburn is home to a very wide variety of art galleries. There is no shortage of beautiful things to look at in this town–and its art is no exception. From game day themed pieces to century-old works and everything in between, Auburn has it all. Here are 5 local art galleries you need to check out!

1. Auburn Art Gallery

This game day themed art gallery in the heart of downtown has everything an art lover and Auburn fan could ask for. The orange walls and sports themed paintings basically scream “War Eagle!” Along with these original paintings, they sell stunning framed photography and fun gifts.

2. The locAL Market

Inside an Auburn classic, J&M Bookstore, sits a hidden treasure of an art gallery. Local artists from around Alabama make and sell their art at The locAL Market. The gallery has abstract art, landscape pieces, traditional paintings, and artistic gifts. Support your local artists, Auburn!

3. The Gallery on Railroad

Right across from the train tracks in historic downtown Opelika, you can find the The Gallery on Railroad. This bright and colorful gallery has been around for 40 years and has a collection of unique pieces you won’t find anywhere else. With an upstairs and a downstairs, there is plenty to look at and choose from. Many local artists make this gallery the eclectic experience that it is.

4. Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art

The Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art is one of Auburn’s pride and joys. With their many gallery rooms and ever-changing exhibitions, there is always something new to go look at. There is currently a rare Baroque exhibition with featured paintings from the 1600s. Go see them for yourselves while they are still here.

5. Carlisle Gallery

It may just look like an adorable cottage home, but it is so much more. Inside is a beautiful private art gallery that can be seen by appointment only. Artists from all over the world have been shown in the Carlisle Gallery. It focuses on 19th century paintings of American and European style. Visit their Website to make an appointment today.
