If you’re like us, a solid sandwich never fails to hit the spot. While Mobile’s food scene is best known for its seafood and gumbo, the Port City also has some fabulous spots to grab a sandwich stuffed with all of your favorite fillings—and maybe some creative combos you’ve never tried.

1. Regina’s Kitchen

Looking for a classic southern restaurant with delicious food? Look no further! Regina’s Kitchen is the perfect little spot to enjoy a tasty sandwich in a comfortable environment. Tucked away in an industrial area, this hidden gem is always packed with customers from all over!

“Regina’s definitely has the best sandwiches that I’ve been able to find in Mobile. The staff is so welcoming and sweet, which makes the experience that much better! Everyone needs to try the Tom Turkey—trust me.”

2. Sub King

Sub King first opened their doors in 1979 on Moffett Road, and the business has been flourishing ever since. With three busy locations in Mobile, Sub King is arguably the “King” of sandwich shops in the Port City! Their menu consists of more than 10 hot sandwich options, as well as the classics—turkey, ham and roast beef. They also offer sandwich tray options for events.

P.S.—The homemade coleslaw is to die for!

3. Stevie’s Kitchen

It’s not often that your favorite sandwich hot spot is in the bottom of a bank building, but Mobile is full of surprises! Stevie’s Kitchen is the epitome of soul food, with everything from sandwiches to gumbo. While this lunch spot is often busy inside, it is definitely worth the wait. Their Philly cheesesteak is a must-try, and I highly recommend following it up with a slice of key lime pie.

Stevie’s Kitchen is also available for large catering events or gatherings!

4. The Cheese Cottage

Good food and great vibes are two perfect ways to describe the Cheese Cottage! Their picturesque patio strung with lights makes for the perfect dining spot with friends on a sunny day. If you’re looking for more than just a tasty sandwich, you can begin your meal with a top-notch charcuterie board and a glass of wine from their assortment inside the “cottage.” This location is one of the best spots in town to spend a beautiful afternoon.

5. Serda’s Coffee Company

Don’t be fooled by the name—Serda’s Coffee Company is much more than your average coffee shop! This unique spot offers smoothies, breakfast, sandwiches, wraps, salads and more. Although all of the food is amazing, we’re here to talk about their heavenly sandwiches.

Some of their popular sandwich options include:

  • BLT
  • Turkey Bacon Avocado
  • Grown-Up Grilled Cheese
  • Hot Ham & Cheese

The ingredients are fresh and savory, which makes for a much enjoyed meal by all!
