6 events celebrating Dolly Parton across Alabama

Since the news of Dolly Parton’s passing, tributes have been pouring in across the country including from right here in Alabama.

While the famed singer in from Tennessee, Parton had plenty of strong connections to our state. Earlier this week, Gov. Kay Ivey directed flags be flown at half-staff through Tuesday, Sep. 1.

There could also soon be a way for drivers to have Dolly’s name on their license plate.

But if you’re wanting to have an experience with other Dolly lovers, here are seven events and celebrations happening across the state.

Songwriters event in Birmingham

  • What: The event will highlight + feature a variety of songs from different singers with a focus on Dolly Parton but also including Bonnie Raitt, Carole King, Taylor Swift and more.
