It’s time to hit the trail! The hiking trail, that is. It’s starting to warm up down here on the coast and we’re all getting a bit of spring fever. So lace up those running shoes, grab a water bottle & keep reading to find six trails you can get to in under an hour from downtown Mobile.

1. Glenn Sebastian Nature Trail

  • Why you’ll love it: Step out of class & into nature at this expansive four-trail system on campus at the University of South Alabama.

2. Historic Blakeley State Park

  • Why you’ll love it: More than just hiking! They have delta cruises, biking trails, horseback riding + so much more; all covering 6 distinct trails along the Mobile-Tensaw Delta

3. Maeher State Park

  • Why you’ll love it: Very close to Mobile & easy to walk through, makes for a great Sunday afternoon! Also hosts educational & just-for-fun classes for all ages.
