At its annual Star Sportsmanship luncheon, the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA)  recognized 65 high schools that were ejection and fine-free during the 2021-22 school year.

They Do It Right

“Our coaches and kids do a great job. They understand that they’re representing themselves and representing the families. They just do it right,” Alan Nunn, Principal and Athletic Director at the Alabama School for the Blind told The Bama Buzz after the ceremony which was held in Montgomery.

The Alabama School for the Blind (ASB) in Talladega and Covenant Christian High School in Tuscumbia have earned the Sportsmanship School distinction 13 times in 15 years. Class 1A Covenant’s boys claimed the school’s first state basketball title in 2022. ASB also has the AHSAA’s longest current streak at 10 years in a row without a coach or player ejection.
