Since ALDI bought out the parent company of Winn-Dixie in 2023, we’ve been waiting to see which stores would be converted.

The Bama Buzz has confirmed seven Alabama Winn-Dixies will soon become ALDI grocery stores.

Keep reading to find out which ones.

Winn-Dixie to ALDI locations

According to an email response to our query the following six Winn-Dixie grocery stores have closed to convert to new ALDI stores:

  • 1617 South College Street in Auburn
  • 2910 Morgan Road, Suite 128 in Bessemer
  • 1550 Government Street in Mobile
  • 10 McFarland Boulevard in Northport
  • 4701 Center Point Road in PinsonΒ
  • 9082 Moffett Road in Semmes

The Alexander City at 1061 US Hwy 280 East is also slated to be converted to a new ALDI store.

Supporting Winn-Dixie associates

Winn-Dixie told The Bama Buzz they are diligently working with ALDI to provide associates opportunities to apply to roles at newly converted ALDI stores or remain with Winn-Dixie and transfer to a neighboring store.Β

Below is a statement from Winn-Dixie about the transition period.

β€œWe will continue to deliver an excellent shopping experience with minimal disruptions for our associates, customers and communities. As we work through this transition period, conversion plans are still being finalized, and we will share more information as it becomes available.

We appreciate the support and understanding of our valued associates, customers and communities throughout this process.”
