7 Mobile lunch spots with amazing outdoor dining options

Mobile is known for its lively downtown full of funky bars, cool street art and, of course, places to eat. With so many options, it can be hard to pick the perfect lunch spot. Luckily, we’ve created this outdoor dining guide with seven unique options to give you a taste of downtown!

1. Spot of Tea

Spot of Tea is a can’t-miss brunch spot downtown. Located right across from Cathedral Square in the heart of downtown Mobile, Spot of Tea is the perfect starting point for your Mobile adventure.They’re open for breakfast and lunch every single day at 7AM, closing at 2PM on weekdays and 3 pm on weekends.

The menu features classic Southern breakfast, lunch, and brunch options–some with a fun Cajun twist. The menu is huge, so even the pickiest of eaters will find something yummy at Spot of Tea.

2. Mama’s on Dauphin

If you came to Mobile for a taste of Southern comfort food, you have to stop by Mama’s on Dauphin. This is a great option for the late risers, as Mama’s on Dauphin opens at 11AM and closes at 2:30PM on weekdays, hosting special events on weekends. With such a narrow window of opportunity to enjoy Mama’s on Dauphin, it’s highly recommended you call ahead for a reservation.

As a further recommendation, try the banana pudding, you won’t regret it!

3. LoDa Bier Garten

If you only visit one restaurant downtown, make it LoDa Bier Garten. It’s open from 11AM until midnight every day, making it a really versatile location. During the day, it serves as a family-friendly brunch spot with award-winning burgers and soft pretzels. As the evening goes on, LoDa becomes a hub for nightlife in Mobile.

Between the awesome location downtown, delicious eats, and huge beer selection, you can’t go wrong at LoDa Bier Garten.

4. Rooster’s

Rooster’s is known for its fresh Latin-American food in the heart of downtown. Their large menu is offered every day (except Sunday) from 11AM until 9PM, so there’s plenty of time to enjoy. Rooster’s also features daily specials, like Margarita Monday and Taco Tuesday.

5. Mediterranean Sandwich Co.

Although there are a few locations of Mediterranean Sandwich Co., the downtown location is definitely the coolest. They’re open weekdays from 10:30AM until 3:30PM. Beef, lamb, and chicken are prepared via rotisserie in-house daily, and every sandwich is hand-crafted to order.

Once again in the heart of downtown, you can sit in their outdoor dining area and watch the hustle-and-bustle of downtown while enjoying your lunch.

6. Heroes Sports Bar & Grille

Heroes is the perfect place to stop if you like a good sports bar experience. They serve delicious, yet high-quality bar food, and have more than enough TVs around for you to watch your game. They’re open Monday through Saturday from 11 am until 9 pm. Outdoor dining sits right across from Cathedral square, the perfect location to enjoy all downtown Mobile has to offer.

7. Foy Superfoods

Open from 11AM until 5PM every day except Sunday, Foy (which stands for Fountain of Youth) is a local favorite health-conscious restaurant on Dauphin. Foy focuses on bridging the gap between fast food and healthy food. Their menu features smoothie bowls, quesadillas, and power bowls. Each dish can be customized to your liking on-order as well.
