In the last stretch of 2023, Alabama’s busy planning some of the most festive ways to ring in the New Year. Keep reading for seven of the biggest parties throughout the state.

1. New Year’s Eve Party at Guntersville City Harbor

Any party on Lake Guntersville is bound to be a good time—and at the recently-developed City Harbor property, they know how to throw a party. This New Year’s Eve, they’re bringing in live entertainment to accompany dinner catered by Big Mike’s Steakhouse and a cash bar service from Levi’s on the Lake. With limited entry, you’ll want to grab tickets soon.

2. Champagne Carnival in Downtown Tuscaloosa

Spending New Year’s Eve on a rooftop just feels right. On Hotel Indigo’s rooftop in downtown Tuscaloosa, there will be plenty of champagne to go around—after all, it’s called the “Champagne Carnival.” Plus, there will be snacks and popcorn, a magician, a fortune teller, fire pits, lawn games and a DJ.

3. MoonPie Over Mobile

Arguably Alabama’s most famous New Year’s Eve celebration is the MoonPie Over Mobile event. Recently nominated for USA Today’s 10Best New Year’s Eve Drops, this iconic celebration includes a giant (edible) MoonPie, live entertainment and another giant (electric) MoonPie depending from the sky.

4. The Live 5 New Year’s Edition in Huntsville

Back again for another year, The Live 5 New Year’s Edition is quickly becoming one of the most popular ways to ring in the New Year in Huntsville. True to the name, this event includes five parties in one at the Von Braun Center. One wristband gives you access to all five rooms, which include the Latin Room, Caribbean/Rasta/Island Room, Top 100/Pop/Rock/Country/House Room, Hip Hop/R&B/Blues/Old School Room and the Live Music room open to all genres.

5. Reelin’ in the New Year at The Wharf in Orange Beach

The Wharf’s festive, electric atmosphere is the perfect spot to welcome 2024. With both family-friendly activities and adult fun, Reelin’ in the New Year has something for everyone. Plus, there’s a marlin drop and fireworks show to round out the night.
