String up those Christmas lights and turn up the Mariah Carey, because it’s officially the most wonderful time of the year!

Looking for different ways to add some fun to your holiday season? Lucky for you, we’ve rounded up seven upcoming events in the Mobile area that will fill you with Christmas spirit!

1. Christmas Nights in Lights

Everyone loves looking at Christmas lights during the holiday season, but Christmas Nights in Lights takes it up a few notches! This mesmerizing light show features over one million lights that are synchronized with some of your favorite holiday hits. What’s even better? You get to enjoy the show from the comfort of your own vehicle!

Prices start at $24 for one vehicle with up to eight passengers, and $45 for one vehicle with nine to 15 passengers.

2. Holiday Art Market

Bring your family and friends to purchase some unique and crafty art pieces from some of Mobile’s best local artists! The Central Arts Collective is hosting their 5th annual Holiday Market this year, featuring original art and handmade gifts that make for great Christmas presents.

This is a great way to support local and have some seasonal fun!

3. Golden Christmas Anniversary

As one of Mobile’s oldest homes, the Richards-DAR House has experienced over 150 Christmases in the Port City. This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) taking care of this historic home and keeping it in its pristine condition.

This event entails:

  • Musical entertainment
  • Christmas cookies + tea
  • Pictures with Santa
  • Caroline’s Closet Gift Shop

The fee to enter is $15 per person, as a donation to the home.

4. Sip ‘N Paint: Holiday Theme

Painting while enjoying delicious drinks? I can’t think of anything better! This holiday-themed Sip ‘N Paint is a great way to relax and wind down while still having fun. With the help of experienced instructors who walk you through your painting, you will go home with the perfect holiday-themed painting!

You must be 21 to attend this event, and registration is $30 per person. The registration fee covers your 9 x 12 canvas as well as painting supplies.

5. Magic Christmas in Lights

Bellingrath Gardens is home to some of the most beautiful flowers and scenery in the Mobile area.

Magic Christmas in Lights is a captivating light display welded, painted and designed by Bellingrath staff — two of the staff members work on the holiday lights all-year! Food and beverages will be available for purchase on the Live Oak Plaza at the Gardens.

Prices include:

  • Children: $11 ($1 if they’re under 1)
  • Adults: $17

6. Holiday Market and Open House

Mobile Museum of Art is back with their annual Holiday Market and Open House! This family-friendly event will feature local entrepreneurs from the Mobile area, live music, food trucks and art activities for visitors.

Vendors will offer everything from jewelry to pottery, so don’t miss out on a fun opportunity to get some Christmas shopping done!

7. December LoDa ArtWalk

Most Mobilians are probably familiar with the LoDa ArtWalk by now, but if not, you should definitely check it out! The ArtWalk is a free monthly event put on by the Mobile Arts Council to showcase Mobile’s large artistic community. Local art galleries, outdoor vendors, unique small businesses and more spread out down Dauphin Street and give residents the opportunity to purchase their products.

This month, the theme is Christmas, so wear your favorite holiday gear and come out to support! There will be karaoke in Cathedral Square, as well as a “Kids Zone” that will feature gingerbread house decorating, music and more child-friendly fun.
