8 pumpkin patches for the perfect fall photos

Now that pumpkin-picking season is here, you may feel a hankering to get out there and grab some pumpkins to adorn your doorsteps or fireplace mantels.

But before you head off to your local hardware store, we’ve rounded up eight local pumpkin patches in Alabama for the perfect Instagram-worthy shot.

Farmer in the Dell | Auburn

The home of the oldest agricultural college in the state is bound to have a killer pumpkin patch. Farmer in the Dell is just that—with a sprawling pick-your-own-pumpkin patch, hay bales and a crop maze.

The Great Pumpkin Patch | Hayden

If you want an authentic farm experience while pumpkin hunting, head to Hayden and visit the Great Pumpkin Patch.

Dubbed “America’s Most Sincere Pumpkin Patch” by one Linus Van Pelt, the patch is home to a whole host of animals, a great selection of gourds and fun activities for the kiddos.

NOTE: The farm is seasonal. This year’s season runs from September 28-November 3.

Old Baker Farm | Harpersville

This patch is a bit of a two-for-one because you get to snag your jack-o-lantern supplies while learning about a historic farm that’s been in operation since the 1890s.

Helena Hollow

If you have little ones, you’ll want to load up the car and hit Helena Hollow. They’ve got a veritable funfair of great acitivies for kids—corn mazes, tire climbing, rope swinging, ring toss, a corn pit + so much more.

Howard Farm | Moody

This pumpkin patch is perfect for those who already started their Christmas shopping—they also have a Christmas tree farm for your winter festivities.

For now, you can pick your own fall decorations in their huge pumpkin patch.

Pop’s Midtown | Mobile

Mobile’s Mardi Gras store is so much more than that—it’s also a top-notch garden center and a wonderful stop for seasonal goodies.

This fall, they outdid themselves creating a photographer’s fall fantasy with scarecrows, walls of pumpkins and stacked hay bales for a flawless shot.
