9 garden centers on the Gulf Coast to get your spring garden started

Now that it’s officially spring, the April showers can put a bit of a damper on your plans. What all that rain is good for, though, is your springtime garden! We’ve already got you covered with gardening tips, so now all you need to do is to grab some plants from these nine local spots to get your spring garden started.

1. Stokley Garden Express

If you’re a true gardening beginner, Stokley Garden Express is the perfect first stop for planning your garden. Between their two locations you can get just about everything you may need from starter plants, pots, soil and so much more.

2. A Bloom Garden Center

A Bloom Garden Center is a huge plant and garden supply center over in West Mobile. You can stock up on plants to do it yourself, or ask their landscaping services for help in planning your garden this spring.

3. Elizabeth’s Garden

Elizabeth’s Garden is a sweet little plant shop over in Spring Hill. The charming store will remind you of grandma’s house while you peruse for your garden necessities.

4. Zimlich’s Patio & Garden Center

Zimlich’s Patio & Garden has been operating as a family-owned garden center for the past 39 years. Visit them for everything from herb gardens to custom-arranged planters.

5. Laura Kay’s Nursery & Florist

Laura Kay’s is another family-owned nursery in Mobile. For the past 40 years, Laura Kay’s has been stocking a wide variety of plants, gifts and much more.

6. Corner Copia Gardens

Corner Copia is your one-stop-shop in Fairhope for all the unique plants you’ve seen in your houseplant Facebook groups. They love stocking fun plants that are hard to find anywhere else.

7. Old Tyme Feed & Garden Supply

Since 1987, Old Tyme Feed & Garden Supply has been keeping Fairhope’s gardens beautiful and well-stocked with their huge selection of gardening supplies, plants and more.

8. Street’s Exquisite Plants & Aquatic Gardens

Street’s Exquisite Plants & Aquatic Gardens is more than just a garden center. They have a gift shop with cute little accessories and clothes in addition to their variety of plants. Definitely a fun place to hang out on a warm spring day.

9. Magnolia Landscape Supply
