ACIPCO project highlights new high-dollar building permits

More than two dozen new building permits were issued around the state this past week for construction projects exceeding $1 million. Of these, the vast majority are for projects in the Birmingham metro.

The priciest of these permits involves a major project at American Cast Iron & Pipe.

$61 million permit issued for ACIPCO

A $61 million building permit was issued to Brasfield & Gorrie for a major project at American Cast Iron & Pipe.

The project includes:

  • replace existing furnaces with greener induction furnaces
  • create a new lining and coating facility
  • add new casting machines
  • establish a new employee center

ACIPCO’s project, which they have dubbed “AMERICAN for Life 2030,” is intended to solidify the company’s investment in Birmingham.
