Having one of the top recruits in the country might not be as big of a surprise as it once was for Alabama basketball but it’s still cool for fans to get a glimpse of their future talent before they’re wearing the crimson and white.

That’s what happened Monday night during the Sprite JamFest, a national dunk contest for high school basketball players during the annual McDonald’s All-American Games.

Alabama 5-star commit Jaxon Richardson lived up to the hype, stunning the crowd with several big dunks including a viral one that involved him jumping over five people to secure the title.

Less than a month after announcing his commitment to Nate Oats and the Crimson Tide, Richardson is wrapping up his high school playing career on the biggest stage for basketball recruits.

Richardson is part of a star-studded class for Nate Oats headed into the 2026-27 season. According to 247 Sports, Alabama ranks as the No. 10 class in the country which includes three players in the top 40 of ESPN’s recruit rankings.

Richardson, who ranks No. 17 in ESPN’s top 100 recruits in the Class of 2026, will play Tuesday night in the McDonald’s All-American Game (8PM, ESPN).

But his first event was Monday night at the Sprite JamFest. And Richardson was the star of the show.
