The eyes of college football fans around the state will be split between two different stadiums on April 12.

Both Alabama and Auburn have officially announced dates for their spring games ahead of the 2025 season. And the two programs have selected the same date for the first time since 2021.

Alabama A-Day

Year 2 of the Kalen DeBoer era will be all about responding to pressure after a disappointing season in Tuscaloosa. And while there may be a short leash for the coach, there’s still plenty of belief that the program will quickly bounce back.

April 12 will give Tide fans a first look at one of the most important questions facing the program ahead of next season: who will be the next Alabama quarterback?

Since Jalen Milroe declared for the NFL Draft, it has been the hottest debate topic in Tuscaloosa.

Names like Austin Mack, Ty Simpson and Keelon Russell have been leading that debate but it’s still not clear who will be in the driver’s seat by September. A-Day should give fans good insight on who will take over.

Auburn A-Day

Auburn will have a quarterback debate of its own next week as transfer Jackson Arnold comes to town but so does 5-star quarterback Deuce Knight.

The spring game will also provide a look at Auburn’s recruiting class which was ranked sixth in the country by 247 Sports, its highest ranking since 2014. That list will include some of the state’s top high school stars from last season including:

  • Jared Smith, Thompson HS
  • Malik Autry, Opelika HS
  • Anquon Fegans, Thompson HS
  • Eric Winters, Enterprise HS
  • Jakaleb Faulk, Highland Home HS
