South Carolina is back as the top seed, searching for its fourth consecutive tournament title. The Gamecocks have won 9 of the last 11 SEC tournaments.
The conference currently has 11 teams projected in the NCAA Tournament, according to ESPN’s bracketology.
Alabama is projected as a 6 seed but could move up a seed line with a strong performance this week. The Tide was as high as a 4 seed in projections this season but lost six of their final eight games, four of them against teams ranked in the top 10.
The 11 seed is the lowest Alabama has been in the conference tournament since 2022 which was also the last time the Tide played on the opening day of the event.
Meanwhile, Auburn will need to win the tournament to earn a spot in the big dance. The Tigers lost 10 of their last 11 games, which included an 18-point loss to Texas A&M.
