It may come as no surprise to some that Alabama Crimson Tide ranks number one when it comes to the most searched football team in the country. With Coach Nick Saban recently renewing his contract and the 18 claimed National Championship titles Alabama has won—including 6 of those under Saban—we can see why Alabama is constantly talked about (or searched on the internet).

Auburn fans can celebrate too because the Tigers made it to number 8 on Google’s list. War Eagle!

In Alabama, we can be proud that our teams are the top searched. Basically, our teams can be described as the country’s IT teams, am I right?

Who’s searching?

FUN FACT: Bama is the top searched team in 15 states!

You’d think that each state’s most searched football team would be their top college, but you’d be surprised at how many states outside of the South are searching the Crimson Tide. In fact, Hawaii and Alaska both made the list.

Take a peek at all the states talking about Alabama football:

  • Alabama
  • Alaska
  • Arizona
  • Hawaii
  • Kentucky
  • Maine
  • Massachusetts
  • Mississippi
  • Missouri
  • Montana
  • Nevada
  • New Hampshire
  • New Mexico
  • Rhode Island
  • Utah

From the chilly top of the USA to the black sandy beaches of Hawaii, Alabama has made a name for itself. I’m most curious about the Bama searches in Maine.

Why do you think the Crimson Tide has reached the top in so many states? Are they all fans? Share your thoughts with us @TheBamaBuzz.
