Alabama falls in latest rankings after back-to-back losses
Reading time: 2 minutes

Alabama saw its 20-game winning streak against unranked opponents end Saturday night with a home loss to Texas.
It was the Tide’s second loss of the week as the team started 1-2 in SEC play for the first time since 2020. But those losses were not enough to drop Alabama completely out of this week’s rankings.
The Crimson Tide fell to No. 18 in the Associated Press poll, remaining ranked for the 40th consecutive poll. It is the team’s lowest ranking since March 18, 2024.
AP Top 25
Alabama (11-5) is one of just three teams with five losses this season in the top 25 including No. 19 Florida and No. 24 Tennessee. Four of the Tide’s five losses are to teams currently ranked in the top 10 including last week’s loss at No. 10 Vanderbilt.
The SEC has six total teams ranked this week including:
- No. 10 Vanderbilt
- No. 17 Arkansas
- No. 18 Alabama
- No. 19 Florida
- No. 21 Arkansas
- No. 24 Tennessee
Vanderbilt was the only one of those teams to move up in the rankings this week. Arkansas dropped two spots after being blown out at Auburn on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Tigers received 14 points in the poll, officially coming in at No. 37. This is the third straight week Auburn has not been ranked in the AP Poll, the program’s longest break since December 2023.
