Not long after Auburn announced it would be abandoning the previous A-Day game format, cross-state rival Alabama said it would be doing the same thing.

Spring games are becoming a thing of the past and the Crimson Tide is following suit. Instead of pitting the Crimson team against the White team, the day will consist of fanfare + a 90-minute practice session at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Fans are still welcome to attend and admission to the stadium will be free but the format will certainly look different for Kalen DeBoer’s second season in charge.

Alabama A-Day on April 12

The pre-practice events will be very similar to past seasons including the annual Walk of Fame ceremony at Denny Chimes.

The schedule for the day includes:

  • 7AM: Parking opens
  • 9AM: Champions Lane opens
  • 10AM: Walk of Fame ceremony at Denny Chimes
  • 11AM: Gates open for Bryant-Denny Stadium
  • 11:35AM: Walk of Champions
  • 12PM: Spring practice

Champions Lane will be held just outside the stadium near the Tuska statue and feature a live DJ, autograph areas with Crimson Tide athletes, a Crimson Tide NASCAR display vehicle + a variety of food trucks.

The Walk of Fame ceremony is held each year on A-Day as the previous season’s team captains put their marks in concrete near Denny Chimes. This year, the players featured will include:

  • Jalen Milroe
  • Malachai Moore
  • Tyler Booker
  • Deontae Lawson

Following the A-Day practice, “Yea Alabama” members will be granted exclusive access to an on-field autograph session with the Crimson Tide players and coaching staff. Those attending the autograph session will be permitted to one autographed item per player/staff member.

April 12 will also be packed with Alabama Athletics events on campus. The day will begin with track’s Crimson Tide Invitational followed by the start of A-Day. Next on the schedule is baseball’s matchup with Mississippi State at 2 p.m. followed by a 3 p.m. first pitch for softball in their contest with Oklahoma.
