Gas prices have continued to rise in Alabama with a state average of $3.64 for a regular gallon and $5.20 for diesel. However, price trends over the last few weeks suggest gas is leveling out for the time being.

Prices have increased more than 37% from a month ago, when the state average price was $2.66. Since last week, when prices averaged $3.58, a regular gallon of gas costs 1.7% more.

We are still a good ways off from Alabama’s highest recorded average price, which was $4.64 in June 2022.

We are in the midst of spring break season, and gas prices have risen since folks started hitting the beach for the school holiday.

AAA says springtime typically sees higher gas prices as gasoline demand rises and summer-blend gasoline production begins.
