Gas prices in Alabama are falling throughout the state before the Christmas holiday travel season.
According to AAA, the national average for gas has dropped below $3 a gallon for the first time in four years this holiday season. As of December 22nd, the average price in Alabama has dropped to $2.56 per gallon.
As a result, AAA expects a record 122.4 million Americans to travel at least 50 miles from home over the 13-day year-end holiday period.
“Year-end travel is a mix of family road trips, friend getaways, and tropical vacations. Holiday celebrations look different for everyone, but a common thread is the desire to travel, whether it’s returning to your hometown or exploring new destinations.”
