Although Alabama’s gas price average continues to lag behind the U.S. average of $4.12, the state has seen a 20-cent increase in price over the last seven days.
Data from AAA shows that, as of Monday, April 6, the average regular gas price is $3.84, up from $3.65 last week. A month ago, that number was $2.98.
We are still a good ways off from Alabama’s highest recorded average price, which was $4.64 in June 2022, but on Thursday, April 2, the U.S. average exceeded $4 per gallon for the first time since August 2022.
