Being on the big stage is becoming the norm for one band in north Alabama.

One year after performing at the Parade of Roses to kick off 2024, the Albertville High School band will head to the nation’s capital for another prestigious parade. The Aggies will be participating in the official Inauguration Parade, just hours after the presidential inauguration on Jan. 20.

Albertville High School band director Taylor Cash made the news official just before Christmas Day, taking to social media to make the announcement.

“This was really a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us to be a part of history, such a huge event in our nation. We’re excited, we’re going to have somewhere between eight to 10 buses full of kids heading up to our nation’s capital… we’re really excited for our kids to have another great opportunity.”

~ Taylor Cash, Albertville director of bands

Cash said around 350 students will make the trip to Washington D.C. It’s the first time the school has performed in the Inauguration Parade but they have performed on the big stage multiple times including the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade four times and The Rose Parade three times, including in 2024.

2025 Inauguration Parade

After President-elect Donald Trump gets sworn in, a luncheon will be held for the new administration. Following the luncheon, the president and vice president will gather at the East Front of the US Capitol and travel down Pennsylvania Avenue.

Marching bands and armed forces personnel accompany them on their march down the avenue as they commemorate this 59th inauguration of the President of the United States, finally arriving at the north end of the White House.

The inauguration and the parade will be carried by different national networks and C-SPAN. If you’re planning to make the trip to Washington D.C., you can get a free spot along the parade route to see the Albertville band or you can buy tickets for specific locations along Pennsylvania Avenue.
