Alabama hosting gymnastics regional; Auburn traveling to Seattle

Tuscaloosa will host one of the four NCAA gymnastics regionals this year, marking the first time Alabama has hosted since 2021.

The Crimson Tide will be one of nine teams competing across four sessions during the regional at Coleman Coliseum. Meanwhile, Auburn travels across the country to Seattle hoping secure its spot in the national semifinals.

The top two teams from each regional will advance to Fort Worth to compete for the national championship. Keep reading to learn more about both teams’ path to Texas + how you can watch the regionals.

Tuscaloosa Regional

The Crimson Tide has competed in every regional round since the NCAA created the format in 1982. This is the 17th time Alabama has hosted a regional + the program is hoping for its 33rd regional title.

Alabama finished second in the Ann Arbor Regional last season to make it to the national semifinals.

To make a repeat appearance, the Crimson Tide will have to get past a competitive group of teams in Tuscaloosa. Here’s the schedule for the week:

  • Thursday, April 3: Clemson + Rutgers in play-in meet | 1PM
  • Friday, April 4: Session 1 – California, Alabama, North Carolina, Iowa | 1PM
  • Friday, April 4: Session 2 – Florida, Oregon State, NC State, Play-In Winner | 7PM
  • Sunday, April 6: Championship – Top two teams from each session | 5PM

All sessions will air on ESPN+. The top two teams from the championship session will move on to compete in Fort Worth.

Seattle Regional

The Tigers are coming off of a disappointing performance in the SEC Championships, finishing in a tie for 7th + tying a season-low score of 195.950.

But Auburn still ranks 15th in the country and will look to bounce back on the west coast. Here’s the schedule for the Seattle Regional:

  • Thursday, April 3: UC Davis + Illinois in play-in meet | 4PM
  • Friday, April 4: Session 1 – Missouri, Georgia, Arizona, Arizona State | 3PM
  • Friday, April 4: Session 2 – Oklahoma, Auburn, Nebraska, Play-In Winner | 9PM
  • Sunday, April 6: Championship – Top two teams from each session | 7PM

All sessions will air on ESPN+. The top two teams from the championship session will move on to compete in Fort Worth.
