Alabama vs. Michigan
This will be the fifth time in the last six seasons Alabama will play in the Sweet 16. They hold a 2-2 record in the Sweet 16 under Nate Oats including one Final Four appearance.
If you’re a superstitious person, that Final Four appearance came when Alabama was a No. 4 seed and an upset of the region’s No. 1 seed happened in the Sweet 16.
Here’s what you need to know before tipoff:
- Who: No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide vs. No. 1 Michigan Wolverines
- When: Friday, March 27 | 6:35PM
- Where: United Center | Chicago, IL
- Watch: TBS/TruTV
And if you’re looking for another sign: Alabama already has a win at the United Center this season, taking down No. 8 Illinois (another Big Ten team) back in November.
The winner of the Alabama-Michigan game will play again Sunday against the winner of the Tennessee-Iowa State game.
March Madness
Alabama is one of nine teams from last season’s Sweet 16 back in the third round. The Crimson Tide is also one of four SEC schools with two each in the East and Midwest regions.
Texas, an 11 seed who played in the First Four, is the lowest seed remaining in the bracket.
Games will resume this week with four games each on Thursday and Friday. The Final Four teams will be finalized this weekend as two Elite 8 games will be played Saturday and two more on Sunday.
