Alabama native Sarah Catherine Hook lands lead role in new film

Montgomery native Sarah Catherine Hook is trading television sets for the big screen. The actor, known for standout television roles in Netflix’s First Kill, Prime Video’s Cruel Intentions and HBO’s The White Lotus, has secured her first major feature film lead.

As first reported by Deadline, Hook will star in Crush, an edge-of-your-seat survival thriller from 20th Century Studios directed by Julius Avery.

In Crush, Sarah Catherine Hook stars as a hiker plunged into a desperate struggle for survival after being trapped by a giant python. The project marks a significant milestone for Hook, moving her from prominent ensemble television roles into the central, top-billed lead role of a major Hollywood studio release.

Filming for the upcoming 20th Century Studios feature is set to commence production in Australia, signaling an exciting international shoot for the rising star.
