Alabama petting zoo loses shelter, animals in fire: How you can help
Reading time: 2 minutes

A popular petting zoo in the Wiregrass suffered a tremendous loss after a devastating fire Thursday morning.
Two by Two Petting Zoo in Enterprise posted on social media about the fire, saying they lost everything after a fast-spreading fire in their shelter. Several animals were being kept indoors due to cold temperatures including birds and younger animals who were receiving extra care during the winter.
“With the heaviest hearts, we share that this morning our family petting zoo suffered a devastating fire. After 17 years in business, we lost everything. The fire spread incredibly fast, and by the time help arrived, none of our animals could be saved.
“For those who truly know our family, you know this loss goes far beyond a business. Our animals were our livelihood, our passion, and our family. Outside of our walk with Christ, they were our daily purpose. To lose what feels like the majority of our family in a matter of moments is a pain that words cannot fully describe.”

Several animals who were in the pastures remained safe but the shelter was a complete loss. According to the zoo, several agencies responded to the scene including Enterprise Fire Department, New Brockton Fire Department, the police department and Coffee County Sheriff’s Office.
