Alabama preschoolers donate 3.7K+ cans to local food banks

No matter how old — or young — one is, they can always make an impact.
That’s the lesson that preschool students around the U.S. learned as part of their “Caring and Giving Food Drive.”
Primerose Schools, a national system of accredited private preschools, had its four schools across Alabama participate in the drive this holiday season:
- Primrose School of Auburn
- Primrose School of Liberty Park
- Primrose School of Meadowbrook
- Primrose School of Riverwood
Learning to give back

To raise funds for the canned goods, students engaged in age-appropriate chores at home to earn money. They then used the money they worked hard to earn to buy pantry staples for the drive.
In total, the four schools donated 3,756 canned goods to several local organizations:
- East Alabama Food Bank
- Central Alabama Food Bank
- Community Food Bank of Central Alabama
- Oak Mountain Missions
Nationwide, Primrose Schools donated 350,000 canned goods — bringing their total donations since 2019 to 2 million.
“Through meaningful acts of service, children experience the joy of giving and see the difference they can make in their communities, especially at a time when so many families are facing heightened need.”
Dr. Amy Jackson, Chief Early Learning Officer at Primrose Schools
