Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe becomes new favorite to win the Heisman Trophy
Alabama Crimson Tide fans are still celebrating their team’s thrilling and significant win over the Georgia Bulldogs last weekend, and the good news for Bama fans continues to roll in. Following a spectacular performance against Georgia, Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe has emerged as the new frontrunner to win the most prestigious individual award in college football, the Heisman Trophy.
According to popular Las Vegas-based sportsbook BetMGM, Milroe is now the betting favorite to win the Heisman following his performance against Georgia that included four touchdowns and 491 yards both running and passing. Milroe’s updated odds moved him ahead of Miami quarterback Cam Ward and Colorado receiver/defensive back Travis Hunter. Milroe is hoping to become the Crimson Tide’s fifth Heisman Trophy-winner since 2009.
Milroe was also honored as SEC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday alongside his teammate, wide receiver Ryan Williams, who was named SEC Freshman of the Week. The Crimson Tide quarterback will have another chance to impress Heisman voters this weekend as Alabama travels to Nashville to take on Vanderbilt in another SEC clash.
