For the first time in more than a decade, the Alabama Shakes will return to the amphitheater along the Black Warrior River.

The band announced it will play a show at the Mercedes Amphitheater, which was known as the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater the last time the band performed there.

“Tuscaloosa has always been a special place for us. From the early days of starting out as a band and playing the Green Bar, Egans and a unforgettable show on the Bama Bella along the Black Warrior River to our surprise reunion last year at the Bama Theater we’ve loved playing Tuscaloosa and we are thrilled to be returning on June 12th to the Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater for our only show in our home state of Alabama this year! It is guaranteed to be a special homecoming and cant wait to celebrate with all our friends and family.”

The performance will come roughly 18 months after the band had its surprise reunion at the Bama Theatre in Tuscaloosa.

Alabama Shakes

The Shakes have been touring over the last year, including a stop last summer at the Coca-Cola Amphitheater in Birmingham.

The band has played 38 total shows across the country since the reunion show at the Get Up in Tuscaloosa. They have been off since November but have several trips already scheduled in 2026.

The stop in Tuscaloosa was the only new show announced by Alabama Shakes on Friday. The Shakes will play in Tuscaloosa before traveling to play at Bonaroo in Tennessee the next day.
