Alabama surplus auction: Bid for holiday deals!

Just in time for the holiday season, the state of Alabama is auctioning off online hundreds of surplus items.

Read on to learn how you can participate.

State surplus auction: November 16-24

Surplus Property, a division of the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA), is holding its latest auction through the online bidding site GovDeals.com.

The bidding began on Saturday, November 16, and ends on Sunday, November 24, 6:00PM.

Surplus state equipment along with items abandoned voluntarily by passengers at several southeastern U.S. airports are up for auction.  Some objects include:

  • Vehicles
  • Computers
  • Machinery
  • Furniture

Public viewing and inspections of the inventory are available at the Surplus Property Division’s Montgomery Distribution Center at 4590 Mobile Highway from 8:00AM to 3:00PM. Wednesday, Nov. 20, to Friday, Nov. 22.

ADECA holds online public auctions periodically each year, but surplus items are available at any time to municipal and county governments, state agencies and qualified nonprofit organizations. 

All items are sold as is without guarantees. All sales are final upon pickup and removal of the property.
