Travel and Tour World (TTW), the global travel media platform that reaches 15 million readers worldwide, says Alabama’s tourism economy is on fire.
In a feature story published on Dec. 1, TTW recognized Alabama, California, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Iowa and Missouri as states that are “supercharging” the American tourism economy and creating thousands of jobs.
Alabama tourism accolades
And TTW brought the receipts.
According to the well-respected travel industry site Alabama is recognized for the following:
- Known for its southern hospitality and historical sites
- Become a popular destination for both domestic and international tourists
- Alabama beaches, civil rights history, and outdoor recreation attract millions of visitors every year
In addition to the accolades, the publication noted Alabama tourism’s $7.9 billion impact on the local economy and its creation of more than 248,590 jobs.
More good news: Over 29 million people vacationed at Alabama beaches, hotels, state parks and campgrounds throughout 2024, according to the Alabama Department of Tourism. A single year record.
