Alabama, Troy secure spots in College World Series: Full schedule + what to know

For the first time in nearly three decades, our state will have two representatives at Omaha in the same season.
Alabama and Troy both swept their super regionals, securing a spot in the 2026 Men’s College World Series. It marks Troy’s first ever appearance in the CWS + the Crimson Tide is in for the first time since 1999.
The College World Series hosts the final eight teams in the NCAA Tournament, playing through a pair of double-elimination brackets before the best-of-3 championship series.

Alabama baseball heading back to CWS
For the first time since 1999, Alabama is back in the men’s College World Series, ending the second longest drought among SEC teams.
The Crimson Tide has won all five of its NCAA Tournament games, including a two-game sweep of St. John’s during the Tuscaloosa Super Regional. The weekend wrapped up Monday morning after a weather delay pushed the celebration back by a day.
The university reported a record crowd of 7,573 at Sewell-Thomas Stadium for Game 1 of the series Saturday night.
Alabama is one of just five national seeds remaining in the tournament after an upset-heavy tournament so far. The Tide will have to get past at least two fellow SEC teams to get to the championship series.
Troy baseball makes history
Troy got to host the super regional round for the first time in school history and the Trojans took advantage of the spotlight, sweeping Little Rock in dominant fashion in front of a record-breaking crowd.
The Trojans are headed to Omaha for the first time + they become the first team to ever make the College World Series with at least 30 losses in a season.
This is the second straight season with a Sun Belt team making it to Omaha with Troy following Coastal Carolina. The Chanticleers made the championship series before losing to LSU last year.
After losing its postseason opener, Troy has reeled off six consecutive wins, its longest winning streak of the season.
2026 Men’s College World Series schedule
Seven of the eight spots in the Men’s College World Series are now filled as one Super Regional is to be finalized Monday afternoon.
Troy is in Bracket 1 and will begin play Friday, June 12 against No. 16 West Virginia. The Trojans will have to a survive a double elimination bracket that includes the Mountaineers, Ole Miss and No. 5 North Carolina.
Alabama is in Bracket 2 which starts Saturday, June 13. The Tide will open play against the winner of the Oklahoma-Kansas series while the other side of the bracket features No. 3 Georgia and No. 6 Texas.

The championship series will feature the winner of each bracket facing off in a best-of-3 series starting Saturday, June 20.
