Alabama women’s basketball
The Crimson Tide lost its opening game in the SEC Tournament, which was likely the end of the team’s hopes of hosting the first two rounds. Instead, Alabama has to travel north to play on the University of Maryland campus.
If the Tide gets past Green Bay in the first round, it will have to play against the winner of the Maryland-Norfolk State game.
Alabama has made it to the Round of 32 twice in the last four seasons but it has not defeated a higher-seeded team in the tournament since 1994. That’s an eight-game losing streak to higher seeds.

The Crimson Tide is in the Birmingham Region but will likely need to break that losing streak to get a game at Legacy Arena. And even if Alabama gets there, the reward would probably be a matchup with defending champion and No. 1 seed South Carolina.
