Alabama has some of the most picture-worthy landmarks scattered throughout its communities. And we as Alabama residents may take these landmarks for granted, but the state’s visitors do have their own thoughts on the best spots to see in Alabama.

1. National Memorial for Peace and Justice

2. Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum

The Barber Motorsports Park & Museum in Leeds includes more than 1,200 motorcycles and race cars with an adjacent road course that hosts major racing events on multiple pro circuits.

3. Dexter Parsonage Museum – Dr. Martin Luther King home

The parsonage of Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church appears as it did when Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his family resided here from 1954-1960.

4. USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park

A Mobile attraction for decades, the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park has seen more than 15 million visitors pver the years, and is one of Alabama’s most recognizable landmarks.

5. Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church

Another Civil Rights Era landmark that made the list is the Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church — also in Montgomery — which was founded in 1877 in a slave trader’s pen, located on Dexter Avenue (formerly Market Street). Dr. Martin Luther King was preached at this historic church from 1054-1960.
