Starting on Wednesday, May 6, ALDOT will begin to replace two bridges over Walnut Creek at milepost 209 in Clanton. The new bridges will be outfitted with modern structures to improve safety.

According to an ALDOT press release, the new bridges will be built to allow traffic to remain in place with no detour required. However, nighttime lane closures will be permitted on Sundays through Thursdays from 7PM to 5AM.

McInnis Construction out of Montgomery was awarded the $22.2M contract.

During the project, drivers should expect possible delays and are encouraged to observe work-zone speed limits. For real-time traffic updates and more, download the ALGOTraffic app or visit ALGOTraffic.com.
