Reading time: 3 minutes

Following Auburn’s men’s basketball win against Michigan State on Sunday, the Auburn community flooded Toomer’s Corner + Samford Lawn— leaving no tree unrolled.
The Auburn Tigers’ win marks the second time the team will advance to the Final Four in the program’s history. Here’s what you need to know:
- Who: No. 1 Auburn Tigers (32-5) vs. No. 1 Florida Gators (34-4)
- When: 5:09PM | Saturday, April 5
- Where: Alamodome | San Antonio, Texas
- Watch: CBS

Many students + members of the Auburn community were huddled around TV’s at downtown bars + restaurants, so the moment Michigan State was defeated, Toomer’s was immediately filled with fans.
Students poured out of Moe’s Original Bar B Que, Southeastern + Halftime Sports Bar with toilet paper at the ready, covering trees in rolls upon rolls of paper.

Families + community members that live further from campus were slower to arrive at the scene, largely due to the major influx of traffic downtown. Many had to make a stop at local convenience stores to grab toilet paper for the occasion.

By 8PM, the grass, walkways + trees of Samford + Toomer’s were entirely enveloped in streaks of white paper. As the crowd began to decrease, children ran around the lawn in search of abandoned rolls of toilet paper to launch.

Earlier this Monday morning, the rolled trees remained as a memento of last night’s victory. Students on their walk to class could be seen taking pictures of the trees in the morning light.

However, as the clock struck 11AM, the trees + lawn had to be returned to their natural state. Workers with Auburn University’s facilities management could be spotted with trash bags + hoses, picking up the remnants of the city’s celebration.
