The college equestrian season wraps up this weekend and once again, Auburn has made its way to compete in the national championships at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida.

The Tigers had a rough stretch in the middle of the season which included four consecutive defeats to top-six teams but they have turned things around in recent weeks. Auburn just claimed its sixth consecutive SEC title and has been selected as the #3 seed for the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) National Championships.

“We’re excited to be in Ocala again and are ready to compete for another championship. There are eight great teams that will be here competing, and it will be a battle until the very end, which is something we’re excited to be a part of it.”

Auburn is searching for its seventh national title in program history and first since 2019.

How Auburn can win the title

The Tigers run begins Thursday afternoon in the Dual Discipline Championship single elimination bracket which pits the country’s top eight teams against each other. Auburn’s first matchup is against Big XII champion Oklahoma State.

Each team will compete head-to-head with five riders in each of the events: Fences and Flat for the Jumping Seat events and Reining and Horsemanship for the Western events. Auburn will need to beat #6 OSU to secure a spot in the semis where it would face off against either #2 SMU or #7 South Carolina. #1 TCU and #4 Texas A&M have already advanced to the other semifinal.

Here’s the full schedule for the weekend:

  • Quarterfinals: Thursday, April 18, 1:30PM
  • Semifinals: Friday, April 19, 8AM
  • Championship: Saturday, April 20, 8AM

You can keep up with live results and even watch the entire championships online on the NCEA website.
