Auburn Gymnastics featured on the Today Show

If you watch the Today Show, you were in for a special surprise this morning when the Auburn University Gymnastics team was featured during a regular segment called Hoda’s Morning Boost. 

The No. 5 ranked Tigers is led by Sunisa Lee, the 2020 all-around Olympic champion and has spent 17 straight weeks in the Top 10 dating back to the beginning of the 2022 season. 

Hoda Kotb talked about Lee and her teammate Derrian Gobourne, who is also a First Team NCAA All-American on the bars & floor. 

What made the feature heartwarming was seeing Gobourne stick an electrifying landing during her floor routine and then witnessing the SEC Network camera capture in the crowd Derrian’s brother Derric dancing.

According to Hoda, Derric helps with the floor dance routines.

“That’s family love right there,” Hoda said.

What’s Next

Auburn University has been ranked in the top 10 since the beginning of the 2022 season. This week they take on North Carolina State at home. The following week the Tigers take on the No. 13 Crimson Tide on February 3rd in Tuscaloosa.
