Auburn fans in Birmingham will get an easier opportunity to see the Tigers women’s basketball team next week.

First-year coach Larry Vickers and his squad will make the trip to the Magic City for Monday night’s showdown against No. 17 Ole Miss. The university announced the location change Thursday afternoon, citing weather conditions in Oxford, Mississippi.

The Tigers currently sit with a 13-8 overall record, having already surpassed last year’s win total. Auburn has won two SEC games, claiming back-to-back victories over Florida and Alabama at home.

Things get tougher for the Tigers as SEC play continues, starting with hosting No. 3 South Carolina on Thursday night.

The game against Ole Miss is expected to mark Auburn’s fifth consecutive game against a ranked opponent. Three other teams on the remaining schedule are also currently ranked but all of them will visit Neville Arena including:

  • No. 6 LSU, Sunday, Feb. 8
  • No. 23 Georgia, Monday, Feb. 23
  • No. 18 Kentucky, Thursday, Feb. 26

Auburn is hoping to get enough SEC wins on its resume to make its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2024 and just second since 2019.
