Prost, Alabama! We are sending up cheers to this year’s abundant opportunities to celebrate Oktoberfest.
Recognized as the world’s largest beer festival with origins in Germany, you don’t have to book that plane ticket to Munich to find beer, brats, and brotherhood.
Oktoberfest Huntsville
- What to expect: Back for its 28th year, this 3-day festival on Redstone Arsenal has cuisine, music and rides. Be sure to check out local craft beer from North Alabama breweries such as Yellowhammer and Straight to Ale.

Oktoberfest Birmingham

- What to expect: Weiner dog races, keg tosses and more! Bring your competitive nature or adoring cheers to see Birminghamians participate in the fun and enjoy a bite from The Current‘s specialty menu. As a bonus, check out the non-profit of the event – Adopt a Golden – and play games for a chance to win goodies!

- What to expect: Not just a day for eating and drinking, celebrate first with a 5K and kids’ 1K! All proceeds from the race will go straight to the American Cancer Society.

Oktoberfest Cullman
- What to expect: Perhaps the most ornate of the Alabamian Oktoberfests, the three-day event is chock-full. From contests like Miss Oktoberfest, stein hoisting and brat eating to hands on learning like blacksmithing and glass blowing workshops, there is something for everyone. Don’t forget your lederhosen!

- What to expect: One of the largest beer festivals in the Southeast, Auburn will host enthusiasts from near and far for its 16th Oktoberfest this year! Split into two days, join the crowd on Friday night for a family style dinner or the main festival on Saturday, with wiener dog racing, chicken dances and more.
