Troubled national chains, Big Lots and Red Lobster are shuttering two Alabama locations.

As reported by The Bama Buzz in May, Red Lobster restaurants temporarily closed their  Huntsville, Decatur, Auburn and Mobile locations in May when it announced they were filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

This week, the Red Lobster at 2620 McFarland Blvd E, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405 became the fifth restaurant to close in the state, according to the Tuscaloosa Thread.

Even though it has not filed for bankruptcy protection, Big Lots, the popular steep discount retail store, informed the Securities and Exchange Commission of its intention to close stores nationwide this spring.

It does look like they have unfortunately begun to close stores nationwide, including their location at 1327 S. Brundidge Street in Troy

There are currently 29 Big Lots stores across Alabama.
