Black Warrior Brewing Company will soon close the doors at its taproom in downtown Tuscaloosa.

The brewery, which first opened in November 2013, has been a staple on University Boulevard. Over the years, it has served as home to musical acts, comedy shows, sports watch parties and more.

But Black Warrior posted to social media this week that May 10 will be the brewery’s final day.

“This wasn’t an easy decision. Black Warrior has always been more than just a brewery—it’s been a place where friends gathered, where strangers became regulars, and where a simple pint turned into lasting memories. From the very beginning, our goal was to create a place that felt comfortable and welcoming. Thanks to all of you, it became something even better—a true community.”

A three-day celebration for the final weekend is already on the schedule.

Black Warrior has created several beers that have become popular across the state and even the Southeast. Some of their top beers include:

  • Crimson Ale
  • Lock 17 IPA
  • Apricot Wheat
  • Sipsey Strawberry Blonde
  • Broad Street Brown

The Sipsey Strawberry Blonde and the Crimson Ale made appearances in our previous Bama Beer Brackets.
