Can Alabama repeat as Miss America? What to know + how to watch
Reading time: 2 minutes

You might be thinking “didn’t we just crown a new Miss America?”
And the simple answer is yes. Just eight months ago, Alabama’s own Abbie Stockard was crowned Miss America 2025.
But the new competition is being held earlier this year as state representatives are already in Orlando this week, competing in preliminaries before taking the stage for the finals on Sunday, Sep. 7.
Here’s what you need to know before Sunday:
- What: Miss America Finals
- When: Sunday, Sep. 7 | 7PM
- Where: The Walt Disney Theater at the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts | Orlando, FL
- Watch: Miss America YouTube
Miss America also provides a subscription option for anyone wanting to watch the preliminary events leading up to the finals.
Miss Alabama Emma Terry
Emma Terry was crowned the state representative earlier this summer, taking the title after two consecutive runner-up finishes.
Now, she’ll take on an even bigger stage at the national showcase.
Terry hopes to bring Alabama its first ever repeat title + fifth overall crown. The state currently sits in a tie for 8th most titles.
There has not been a state to repeat at Miss America since New York won three straight competitions from 2013-15.
